  • What does the winner get?
Nada. Or bragging rights. Or how about a date with me? :)

  • Why did you change from the old Flash results shows to live results?
Because of time and effort. Those Flash things are hard to do, plus they are time-consuming for this working boy. Live video chat results saved me hours of prep time, plus they generated a wonderful sense of community among the voters who regularly attended on Wednesday nights. The various camps of individual hunk fans started bonding, and so now people who never would have interacted before are now chat buddies. The live chats have been my favorite part of any Adonis contest, ever. (Even if they are always trying to get me nekkid during chat!) LOL

  • What soaps are you watching these days?
ATWT is still the only show I don't miss an episode of. It is not in the best of shape these days, though. (COMPLETELY REUNITE CASEY & MADDIE NOW!!) I also TiVo PASSIONS everyday, but only to watch the shirtless Miguel/Fox scenes. I also record DAYS everyday, but I skim through a week's worth of episodes in about 5 minutes. My once-beloved GH seems to be on the rebound, and it really holds my interest when I see it. I know Y&R is good these days, but I still only catch it from time to time. Someone needs to call the medics for AMC these days; it's in trouble. B&B I tried to start up with when Mario Lopez got hired. When he got quickly shown the door, I went with him. OLTL gets only occasionally glances from me; GL gets even less than that.

  • Why wasn't my favorite soap hunk, (fill-in-the-blank), included?
I get this one every year. Check here to see if your guy was in the original pool of 32 semifinalists. If your guy didn't make it from that pool, blame the voters. If he wasn't among that group of 32, blame me.

  • Who were the judges that picked the wildcards?
This year I went with TVGuide.com's Daniel Coleridge, who selected ATWT's 8th place finisher Zach Roerig. I retained last year's judge, my friend soapgal, so that I could have a female perspective. So much for that! Her pick, DAYS' Brody Hutzler, was the first finalist eliminated! And, of course, I was the third judge. My pick of ATWT's Paul Leyden, results in a 10th place finish. I also felt awful about sidelining my buddy DaveId (Dreamcaps head honcho) as a judge. But I just ran out of spots! You know I love ya, Dave!

  • Did the finalists know about Adonis 2006?
I know that Eric Martsolf and Mark Collier did. Other finalists like Justin Bruening, Brody Hutzler, Grayson McCouch, and Aiden Turner have known about the contest in past years, so I guess it's safe to assume they are familiar with the whole idea by now.

  • Who did you expect to win?
The GH fans were voting so hard during the semifinals that I figured it would be Greg Vaughan, Steve Burton, or Jason Thompson. Then I saw how Grayson McCouch won the first five weeks of the finals, so I thought it might be him. McCouch or Thompson were the two I most often thought had it.

  • Who did you want to win?
Adrian Bellani, no contest. Witness my Week 9 rabid temper tantrum in live video chat when he got voted off as evidence of this.

  • What was the biggest surprise for you in this year's contest?
One of the biggest was the sudden disappearance of Jason Thompson in Week 11. Jason had never been in the Bottom Three before, and his fans just got complacent, I guess. By that point, everyone else had been shaken up and started voting harder, and it was Jason who paid the price.

I was also obviously surprised by Eric Martsolf, who was No. 7 in 2004, No. 6 in 2005, and now No. 1 in 2006.

I would also like someone to explain to me how Justin Bruening, who gets hotter and more buff EVERY YEAR, keeps dropping in this contest!! It is ridiculous.

  • Were votes unlimited or was there a 1,000 vote rule?
Last year it was 3 votes per week, period. This year, I called it "unlimited," thinking no one would go over a few hundred votes. But then certain folks started voting 2,500+ times in a week. I thought that was excessive, so I quickly instituted the 1,000 vote cap. I thought this was fair, and plenty of people passed that 1,000 and had extra votes discarded. Get a life, people! LOL

  • Why did you make me fill out that damned ballot every time I voted?
To make sure you were serious.

  • Will there be an Adonis 2007?
    Yes.

  • What's next?
Aside from regular picture updates, the next big feature is the 8th Annual Soaphunks.net Awards, which happens at the end of the year. You can see results from the first seven awards here.
