  • What does the winner get?
The shiny, priceless Adonis statuette is available for collection in my boudoir whenever the winner chooses to come to my house and receive it. ;)

  • Did any of the finalists attend this year's results shows?
Yes, both Mark Lawson (4th place) and Brandon Beemer (6th place) attended at least one live results show.

  • What soaps are you watching these days?
OLTL remains the only season pass on the Tivo. I catch the others from time-to-time, and still miss the PASSIONS beef parade, even though a lot of it has moved to Salem. When Adrian Bellani goes to DAYS, then I do too.

  • Why wasn't my favorite soap hunk, (fill-in-the-blank), included?
He was. Starting this year, every conceivably qualifying man on each soap was a part of the semifinal rounds. Only the 1st & 2nd place finishers for each soap had the capability of making the finals. Click here to see the entire rules list for Adonis 2009.

  • Who were the judges that picked the wildcards?
This year's judges were superherofan, the awesome capper from superherofan.net, who donates so many caps to my site; and Nelson Branco, the TV Guide Canada soap guru. The judges' wildcards did better than last year. Superherofan's pick, Shawn Christian, finished 8th; mine of John-Paul Lavoisier nabbed 9th; and Nelson Branco's Don Diamont got 10th.

  • Did the finalists know about Adonis 2009?
I know that Jake Silbermann, Mark Lawson, and Brandon Beemer did. I'm sure some of the other guys did as well, thanks to their rabid fan clubs.

  • Who did you expect to win?
James Scott going in, but the early results in the finals had me convinced this would be Steve Burton's year. I also knew whichever side of Nuke was eliminated first would immeasurably help the other one.

  • Who did you want to win?
Mark Lawson, Brandon Beemer, and of course, Don Diamont would have been my top three.

  • What was the biggest surprise for you in this year's contest?
I sort of thought Brandon Beemer might be the frontrunner for this year's title, but I guess now we know once and for all that B&B fans just don't have much of an online presence. When Beemer was on DAYS, votes poured in for him. Now that he's on the most popular soap in America's nursing homes, he finishes 6th?! Boo to that...Beemer is an absolute dreamboat.

  • I stuffed the ballot box. Did my ballots get deleted?
Of course. I am annually amazed at how many people think I won't catch this.

  • Will there be an Adonis 2010?
As far as I know, the Annual James Scott Awards will be held again as usual.

  • What's next?
Nominations for the 11th Annual Soaphunks.net Awards will be announced in mid-to-late November, with voting beginning on Dec. 1. Until then, check out the history of the previous 10 years of voting here.
